When I want to redraw the pen tool at a different point,what should i do?

If you want to continue drawing on the open path, select the open path and select the pen tool to draw from the red point. But what if you want to start at a point other than the red point of the OpenPass?

Scissors tool to cut the path at that point, delete the unwanted end piece, select what’s left, draw from the newly cut end?
