Using a photo as a sketch

Hi, I’m new here.
I’m learning to use Vectornator and I love it!
I followed the “101 Vector Design Course” but now I want to draw something myself.
But I have a question.
When I was doing the course I added a level as a sketch to use as a guide.
So I tried to use a drawing that I made in my sketchbook.
I photographed it with my iPad and put it in Vectornator.
But it’s not transparent.
I converted the image to bitmap, but it’s a little ugly.
Is there another way?

Thank you

Hi there @Jezergirl,

We’re so happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed out 101 Vector Design Course!

If you would like to use a semi-transparent image to trace, here’s a quick demo as to how to adjust its opacity and eventually hide/delete the layer entirely. It’s important to bear in mind that this ‘base’ layer should be at the bottom of the Layers tab and no other objects should occupy the layer - this will make it easier to toggle its visibility or delete should you wish to:

Helen

Thank you very much @Helen.
Your solution is very useful, but in the course 101 the image was on the top of the layers.
So I’m wondering if there is another solution for my problem.
